Tapple Cider outrun her 22-1 odds at Saratoga Race Course on September 1st to finish second beaten by 1/2 length in her $50,000 Claiming race for Fillies and Mares that have never won two races. Dylan Davis again gave her a superb ride and managed to get her the lead in the stretch before being caught late. She earned $11,000 in purse money and was not claimed. Her Beyer speed figure of 73 was 10 points higher than the 63 she earned when winning her Maiden race at Saratoga on August 12th.
